My wealthy affiliate review gives the Grand Poobah of all ratings. That means that it has earned five suckers, my highest rating and it’s nearly sucker free! If you want to know the true meaning of “sucker free”, please visit my About page.

Sucker Rating: five-suckers (Five suckers!)
Who it’s for: Anyone who wants to build an online business.

What is Wealthy Affiliate and who is it for?

Wealthy Affiliate is a platform with comprehensive tools and training for building any type of successful online business. It is more than just a place to build a website, but the website building tool they have crafted is superb and very user friendly. It has been designed so that anyone can have a website up and running in under thirty seconds.

Of coarse, you will still have to create content for your new sucker free website, but Wealthy Affiliate has you covered there, as well, with lots of great training and other resources.

The owners, Kyle and Carson, are extremely active in the community. They have both been in the business of making money online for many years. They founded Wealthy Affiliate in 2005 so this product is definitely not the new kid on the block. Their passion is to help people to be successful in establishing an online presence that can be turned into a sucker free money making machine.

Are there pros and cons?

As with any product, there are always pros and cons. Here is my take on them for Wealthy Affiliate.

  • Great training
  • Community Support
  • Technical Support
  • Keyword Research (which is critical for building an online business)
  • Incredible Tools like their three click website builder.

  • Information overload
  • Suggestions from users who might not have a clue what they are talking about

information-overloadWhat I mean by “Information overload” is that there is so much useful information on Wealthy Affiliate that it might be easy to become overwhelmed. I know that happened to me for the first hour or two I was browsing around the site. Thankfully with a little help from the community (including Kyle, the co-owner) I was well on my way to getting started shortly thereafter.

Let me also explain a little further with regards to my second “con”. Some of the users are very new to online business. A lot of times the help they offer is, well, not very helpful at all. As one of my mentors says, “Opinions are like belly buttons. Just because everyone has one does not mean they are all useful.

This should be taken with a grain of salt, though, because even though there are some users whose advice you may want to ignore, there are scores of users who are very experienced in establishing successful sucker free online businesses as well. You just may not want carefully evaluate whose advice you decide to follow.

My advice is to get to know the person offering you a “tip” by reading their profile, talking to them and even browse their sites. If their sites are bad, chances are their “help” may not be as effective as someone who has a slick one and has been in online business for a while.

Just because a person is a “newb” does not mean their insight may not be helpful. There have been several times when new users have made suggestions to me, a veteran of online business for many years, that have been helpful.

In a sense, you might say there are a few suckers at Wealthy Affiliate. Remember I said it was nearly sucker free, not completely. *No disrespect is intended to anyone on the site. The community really is fantastic. Everyone is very nice and eager to help.*

What makes Wealthy Affiliate unique?

There are several things that make this product unique. Although I have listed “newbie users” as a con, one of Wealthy Affiliate’s greatest assets is its community. If you have a question (and ask it) you will likely get several answers within an hour or two.

There truly is nothing on the market anything like Wealthy Affiliate that I can find.

What kind of training does Wealthy Affiliate provide?

wealthy-affiliate-classroomsHow much time do you have? The sucker free tool and training list is pretty vast. Here is a quick list of the training available:

  • Getting Started
  • Affiliate Training
  • Keyword Research
  • Content Authoring
  • Website Development and Programming
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Writing and authoring content
  • And much, much more…

There is so much quality training on Wealthy Affiliate that I know that you will find all of the training you need to get you going down the path to a successful online business. And if you cannot find something you need in the expansive training, there is an “Ask a question” platform that will get you the answer and help you need on literally every subject pertaining to an online business.

What kind of tools are available?

The tool set available at Wealthy Affiliate is very vast which makes it a very unique platform. All of the other products I have looked at, reviewed or used have paled in comparison. Most of them either had non existent tools, weak tools or just one or two tools. If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Wealthy Affiliate has a chest full of tools to get the job done right the first time so you don’t have to worry about trying to tighten a bolt with a crow bar. Here is a list of just some of the tools available:

  • use-the-right-toolsA very clever, easy to use website creator
  • Keyword Research Tools
  • Low Competition Keyword Lists
  • An “Ask for help” platform
  • State of the Art Website hosting (including free websites)
  • 24/7 Technical Support
  • Community Support
  • And much, much more…

OK, but what kind of technical support is available?

On top of the community driven support for building your website there is also great technical support at Wealthy Affiliate. Every time I have had to use it (yes, I have really used it) the response times have been very good.

The technical support is geared mostly for your websites but there is also technical support for your user account.

So how much does it cost?

The cost to start on Wealthy Affiliate is a very round $0. That’s right. You can start right now by creating a starter account and be well on your way to creating your very own successful online business, No credit card is required and there is no risk.

There is, of course, a premium offering which provides more features. There is quite a bit of bang for the buck if you go premium. Here is a side by side comparison of the Starter vs Premium memberships.

Now I’m about to get real. Yes, the premium membership costs $49 (I pay it every month) and yes I want you to buy it. And for full disclosure, if you decide to buy it, I will make some money from your (wise) decision to do so.

I’m convinced that you will find Wealthy Affiliate so useful that if you sign up for the starter account, go through the getting started training and kick the tires of some of the other features, you will see the value and upgrade to a premium account. I know you can be successful using the tools, training and methods outlined at Wealthy Affiliate. I want to help you and I will be there to answer any questions you may have and get you pointed down the path to success.

You can also sign up for a premium membership if you are really ready to jump in with both feet. Right now if you decide to start with a premium membership, you can join for $19 for the first month! That’s around 63¢ per month. That’s a lot of bang for less than a buck.

With all of that said, I don’t want you to have any misconceptions regarding this or any other product. This is not a get rich quick scheme. You will not sign up today, whether with a starter or a premium account, and be raking in cash tomorrow. There is no such thing as getting rich quick or easy. A fair degree of work is going to be required to get you to the point where you can quit your day job and live on Easy Street. And quite frankly, Easy Street isn’t easy, but it sure is a lot more fun than working a 9 to 5 grind.

But you can do it and I want to help you.

And the final verdict is (plus a bonus)…

My personal opinion is that we can call Wealthy Affiliate a vehicle to start a sucker free online business and it is the best vehicle to your success that you will find. The community is fantastic and very helpful and supportive. The tools and training will provide you everything you need to start building your successful online business.

Wealthy Affiliate is the vehicle for success for any online endeavor whether it is affiliate marketing, eCommerce or something else. What are you waiting for? There is no risk and you can get going with your starter membership today for absolutely free.

How to claim your bonus

I’m convinced that you will find Wealthy Affiliate an extremely valuable resource to creating and maintaining your successful online business. But if you’re not sure, I want to offer you an extra incentive. If you decide to become a premium member within the first 7 days of creating your free account, you will receive a 59% discount on your first month’s membership plus a special training on how to kick-start traffic to your website. Don’t forget, you only get this bonus if you act within the first 7 days of your free membership.

  1. Thanks for this sleaze free review. I have read a lot of reviews online and most of them sound like sleazy car salesmen who are out to get you. Your review is so honest and gives the true picture of what people are getting into.

    Thank you so much.

    1. Thanks, Faraz. I’m just trying to be completely honest with my readers. I do feel that anyone that gets on Wealthy Affiliate will have a positive experience with it. Once they hear Kyle talk in one of the training videos, they will hear the genuineness of his voice and when they see the quality of the training, anyone would be sold.

      Thanks for your reply.

  2. Christian, looks like a very nice platform to start an online business and all the tools that the platform offer is a very nice opportunity for a novel entrepreneur, I like your honesty and how you wrote this review, I hope people take in account this valuable information to start a new experience in the WA community. Is WA for all the people? Is possible for somebody that can’t pay a premium account start with their own website?

    1. Hi John, anyone who wants to build, is building or has built an online business can definitely benefit from a membership at Wealthy Affiliate. It is possible to start with absolutely no money, but you do need at least access to a computer on the internet. You can get started by building a free website through site rubix and following the training. Once you have your website up and running all of the work you have done will transfer to your premium account if you upgrade. Wealthy Affiliate even has functionality to transfer your free site to your own domain, if you choose to buy one, but it is not necessary.

But I think buying your own domain is a worthy investment. It only costs around $12 per year and allows you to establish your brand.

  3. thanks for this information on what is wealthy affiliate about. You have summarised this business well, and I like your light hearted tone! It does sounds interesting, but i need to ask, if you are with Wealthy affiliate, are you successfully running your own business, and how would you define that success?

    1. Hi Ruth! Great name. It was my grandmother’s first name and we passed that on to our younger daughter as a middle name.

I think success can be gauged in different measures and it is different for everyone. I think when most people think of success with an online business, they are thinking of something that will make them money. Wealthy Affiliate gives you the tools and training to launch and maintain a successful (money making) online business. It will teach the ins and outs of how to ethically drive organic traffic to your site. That is very important because there are a lot of bad and unethical programs out there. Most of them cost more than Wealthy Affiliate and worse yet, just plain don’t work. Trust me, I’ve found quite a few of them.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi Christian,

Your WA review is WA textbook informative and well done. You really laid it out there honestly and thoroughly. Hat’s off for that.

But the real accolades I want to pay you are for your “about” page. It explains why you chose to use the word sucker. Not only that it’s the chassis for my life story as well. I doubt you and I are the only ones. That’s what will make you easier to relate to than the content you write.

Having said that, as a former English teacher who understands the mechanics of writing and knows a good writer when I see one, you’re a good writer.

Bottom line, your honesty and ability to write are and will be your strong suits.

    Best wishes.

  5. Hi Christian, thanks for this great review. I have been looking online for a long time for an online business opportunity that is a real opportunity. I am so tired of scams and places that waste my time.
This sounds like it could be what I have been searching for. Is this the best opportunity you have found online or have you found anything else that is worthwhile I might be interested in?

    1. Hey Lynne, there is nothing else on the entire internet like Wealthy Affiliate. Nothing else provides the comprehensive training, unique website hosting or vast community like it does. It is my opinion that if you are going to be serious about starting an online business, this is by far and away the best route to go.

  6. Hey there Christian,
Loving your WA review, I especially love the online community and features they provide. To me, its the best Online Business platform to go to because really, everything we ever need to kickstart our online journey, is provided there at WA.

I love the new domain registrar feature here, you can literally buy domains through WA here and the deals are amazingly competitive, Highly recommended for those serious in starting their own business.

    1. Hi Riaz, At the time of this writing, you cannot actually purchase a domain through Wealthy Affiliate. The recommended path is to register via namecheap.com which is the cheapest domain registration I’ve seen.

  7. Hey there Christian,
